Jet Spur May Mirror Zeditave Success
Saturday, 24 July 2010: | | Jet Spur | Jet Spur is a mirror image of Zeditave, a handsome chestnut who descended from his look alike maternal ancestors Crowned Prince and Raise A Native, a speed influence who left a huge legacy to world breeding through another son Mr. Prospector.
A champion European 2YO, Crowned Prince stood briefly in Australia in the late1970s.
Included in his offspring was Summoned, an unraced queen of Australian broodmares.
She produced five Group winners among her 11 winning foals, headed by Zeditave, a son of the good Showdown sprinter The Judge.
Zeditave won 14 races – nine at two - from 1000m to 1600m, including five G1 events, in 17 outings and to date has been represented by over 450 winners of 1620 races (86 stakes) and $36 million.
Zeditave's sister True Verdict produced seven winners including Jet Spur's stakewinning dam Verocative (Bletchingly).
Jet Spur is the best of her five winners. the son of Flying Spur who raced 10 times for three sprint stakes wins in Sydney and Melbourne.
Jet Spur got off to an impressive start as a sire this season with his first juvenile crop boasting 13 winners to date including one overseas, and nine others placed.
On the Australian juvenile earnings list he has had a better season than established prestigious sires Encosta De Lago, Invincible Spirit, Danehill Dancer, Choisir, Exceed And Excel and Lonhro.
Jet Spur stands at Glenlogan Park Stud with Falvelon, another descendant of Summoned, being by her ill-fated sprinting son Alannon who died after only one stud season.
