First Foal For Mutawaajid

Friday, 30 July 2010: The Halo-line broodmare Arrays gave birth to a bay colt on the morning of July 28.

N nominations manager Bryan Carlson reported that the youngster was very much like what is expected of the new Mutawaajid breed, being typical of the Redoute's Choice branch of the Danehill sireline.

Dam of the Mutawaajid foal is a lightly-raced daughter of Reassure (USA) from the imported mare Letsdancetilldawn (USA).

This prominent North American female family boasts four major G1 winners in its first few removes, including the Newmarket 2000 Guineas winner Pennekamp and the Curragh 2000 Guineas winner Black Minnaloushe.

Mutawaajid covered close on 100 mares in his first stud season including a small selection of the Australian Stud Book's most prized producers.

Among his 2009 partners were the dams of G1 winners Elegant Fashion, Dash For Cash and Mnemosyne, as well as half-sisters to Group 1 winners Sports, Bel Esprit, Clangalang and Aerosmith.

Mutawaajid has been reduced in price for his second year at stud at $7700 (inc GST).
