Teofilo Foal Arrives At Woodlands

Wednesday, 11 August 2010: The bay colt was born at Darley Woodlands and is the fifth foal from the Listed Widden Stakes-winning Strategic mare Riona.

A half-sister to the G1 Doncaster Handicap winner Over, Riona comes from the family of stakes-performers Youth, Veteran, Tuileries and Stamp.

Teofilo retired to stud as an unbeaten European champion two-year-old whose victories included the G1 Dewhurst Stakes and G1 National Stakes, defeating Holy Roman Emperor both times.

Teofilo covered his first southern hemisphere book of mares last season which included G1 winners Tully Thunder and Not Related, the dams of G1 winners Regimental Gal and Blackbean and siblings to G1 winners Ambulance, Sports, Curata Storm, Medaaly, Crawl, Flavour, Planet Ruler and Crawl.

Teofilo will stand the upcoming breeding season at Darley Kelvinside at a fee of $22,000.
