Figures In Favour Of Jet Spur

Friday, 6 August 2010: Jet Spur finished second to Stratum in the battle for Champion First Season Sire by winners although his winners to runners percentage was more impressive.

From just 33 starters, as opposed to Stratum's 50, Jet Spur finished with 12 individual winners to Stratums 13 – a win percentage of 36.5% compared to 26%.

Jet Spur was easily the best performed first season sire by percentage of winners to runners in Australia.

Other leading stallions in this group were Snitzel 32%, Starcraft 25%, Hidden Dragon 25% and Domesday 20%.

Another Glenlogan Park sire Bradbury's Luck has also had a fantastic first year with his runners and was the only Queensland based first season stallion to sire a G1 performer.

That youngster Ringa Ringa Rosie was sent to the paddock following her second placing in the G1 TJ Smith Stakes at Eagle Farm with the Melbourne spring carnival ahead of her.

Flying Minstrel, purchased by Grant Morgan of On Track Thoroughbreds out of the paddock for a six figure sum, has shown exceptional promise at his two race starts in registering effortless victories.

He has already been sent to the paddock in preparation for a summer campaign.

New Queensland sire Red Element will enter his first year at Glenlogan Park with excellent support.

An example of the quality of his book can be gauged by just some of the mares John and Fu Mei Hutchins will be sending to the son of Red Ransom.

They include Andrella (stakes winning Dehere mare from a half sister to Planet Ruler); Bonanova (G1 winner of the Emirates Stakes and dam of stakes winner and G1 placegetter Prima Nova and stakes winner Bonaichi); Comic Queen (half sister to G1 Canterbury Guineas winner Jymcarew); Danendri ( AJC Oaks winner and dam of stakes winners Zingham and Banc De Fortune and the dam of Faint Perfume); Extension Of Life (Flying Spur daughter of Khaptrist); Fairy Flight (dam of G2 winner Just James and stakes winner Blue Jack); Fusaichi Queen (half sister to Oakleigh Plate winner Miss Kournikova and Tirade); Hosprings (Encosta de Lago daughter of Donna Natalia from the family of Charge Forward); Khaptrist (stakes winning daughter of Khaptivaan by Sir Tristram); Mrs Kahn (dam of G1 winner Ike's Dream); Mukda Lass (dam of stakes winners Fabiarna and Yabigorse); Sunny Paradise (half sister to Snippets Crown, dam of the G1 Flight Stakes winner Unearthly); Trail Of Secrets (half sister to G1 winner Gold Trail.
