Boutique Scone Property For Sale
Tuesday, 17 August 2010: MacCallum Inglis has listed Goanna Downs, a 'state of the art' boutique broodmare farm with the capacity for broodmare agistment, foaling down, yearling preparation or spelling, for sale at an asking price of $2.6 million.
The property is situated right on Scone's doorstep within close proximity to Upper Hunter stallions stations.
"Goanna Downs is one of Scone's blue ribbon boutique stud farms," said agenjt Michael Burke.
Comprising some 98 acres of sloping basalt to alluvial flats, Goanna Downs was formerly the home of renowned upper Hunter horse family the Griffiths.
Since its purchase in 2006, the current owners have made a number of significant upgrades.
The property now features a newly constructed charming and extremely well finished 4 bedroom home; 20 spacious boxes have all been either fully refurbished or rebuilt; 13 kilometres of new fencing; and pastured improvement to 80 percent of the property.

"Through the successful sales of Patinack Farms Riverslea Stud, Liverpool Farm and Kulani Park (under offer), the stud property market has held up very well," Burke said.
"The strong market has also been underpinned by new buyers in the market as well as existing farms expanding or relocating."
