Weekend Hussler To Resume Within Four Weeks

Weekend Hussler
Weekend Hussler commenced gallop work at Mornington late last month which is combined with frequent work in a water walker.

Trainer Ross McDonald has had the Hussonet six-year-old in work since June as they attempt to return the gelding to his winning form which resulted in seven Group 1 victories during his three and four-year-old seasons.

A successful return to racing will be a tough ask for Weekend Hussler who has suffered multiple injury setbacks since his last full length campaign in October 2008 which culminated in an unsuccessful tilt at the Caulfield Cup.

Although a specific first up target is yet to be decided upon, racegoers could see Weekend Hussler resume either later this month or at the start of October.

Weekend Hussler will be aimed at shorter races over the spring carnival while connections have also suggested a start in the Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m) at Ascot on November 27 is also a possibility.
