WYONG: Wyong Welcomes Women In Racing

Monday, 13 October 2008: More than 150 women who enjoy the social aspect of racing have booked for the meeting which will include a buffet luncheon and use of members' facilities.

The group was formed in June and is an extension of the highly successful Women In Racing that was formed in Canberra eight years ago.

Marion Langlar, who formed the Canberra group, moved to the Central Coast with her husband Peter two years ago and missed the inter action and fun associated with the group.

She and Cathy York then created a Central Coast branch which already has more than 50 members.

“We have received wonderful support from Wyong and Gosford clubs and Thursday is our first outing to a race meeting,” Cathy said.

“Our goal is to generate interest in racing among women but with the emphasis on the social aspect.

“It is also an opportunity for business women to interact and network.”
