WYONG: New Partners Set For Wyong Plunder

Tuesday, 14 October 2008: Warwick Farm trainers, Amanda Turner and Mauro Poletti, are not only linked romantically but are in the process of becoming training partners as well.

The partnership has led to a sudden growth spurt in their stable as they now have 12 horses in work with another six due next week.

At the last Wyong meeting the Poletti-trained Rapauric won but it was Turner who saddled the horse and gave Rod Quinn his instructions as her partner was in Queensland on business.

“We have completed all the paper work to become a training team and submitted it to Racing NSW and we are just waiting to hear back from them,” Turner said.

One of the newest additions to their team, the Moonee Valley winner Ultimate Inca, will make her debut for the stable in the Brentwood Village Kincumber Rating 65 (1200m).

Ultimate Inca is the top weight with 59kg and will be ridden by Kathy O”Hara.

”This is a nice race to kick her off in while we decide where to head with her,” Turner said.

“She has sesamoid problems and that is why she is going to Wyong as there is no better racing surface anywhere.

“Some months ago when Mauro and I decided to build up the stable we looked for some nice tried horses in Victoria and she was one of several we bought.

“She was very light when she arrived and had some mental problems.

“I gave her six weeks in the paddock, got her a pony to keep her company and took her along steadily.

“She has been to the trials twice and we took her to Rosehill for the second trial to make sure she would handle a float trip away.

“She had the pony with her and she was fine and he will be coming to Wyong with her.”

Ultimate Inca beat only two home at her first trial at Warwick Farm but put in a much improved effort at the Rosehill trial on October 3 when a half length second.

Turner will also saddle up His Emco (Patrick Ferris) and Penalty Shoot Out (Patrick Murphy) in the Stephen Farley Racing Rating 65 (1200m).

Turner is particularly excited about the return to racing of His Emco.

“I think he is a horse with a lot of potential and he is ready,” Turner said.

“He won first up last preparation and I hope he can do the same thing this time.”
