Dwayne Dunn, James Winks and Mark Zahra were all suspended after careless riding inquiries that stretched for almost three hours.

The trio were each suspended for six meetings. Their suspensions start after Saturday's Caulfield Cup meeting and rule them out of next week's Geelong Cup but they will be back for the Cox Plate meeting at Moonee Valley on Saturday week.

Winks is sharing the lead with Damien Oliver for the Roy Higgins Medal to be presented to the leading rider over the three-day Caulfield carnival.

Oliver and Winks have each ridden three winners and a second on the first two days.

Steven Arnold was also charged with careless riding on Dan Baroness in the Thousand Guineas but the charge could not be sustained and he escaped with a severe reprimand.

A careless riding inquiry held over from the Moonee Valley meeting on October 10 resulted in Jason Benbow being suspended for 10 meetings.

Benbow's suspension also starts after the Caulfield Cup meting and runs until October 28.
