Sydney Racing Loses A Fine Leader
Tuesday, 21 October 2008: Pash was a former chairman of the Sydney Turf Club, board member of Racing NSW and a director of the Sydney Swans AFL Club.
Racing NSW chief executive Peter V'landys paid tribute to Pash following his death after a long illness.
“As well as being one of the industry's most able administrators, Graeme was one of the nicest persons in racing," V'Landys said.
"His death is not only a great loss to his family but also to the racing industry.
“We always joked with Graeme that if we wanted world peace all we had to do is send Graeme in. His charm, sincerity and kindness was embraced by everyone.
“He had a long and distinguished career in the corporate sector, racing industry and sport, including terms as chairman of the Sydney Turf Club and deputy chairman of the Sydney Swans.”
Pash served on the Racing NSW Board as the Sydney Turf Club nominee from August 2003 until his retirement in April of this year.
V'landys said the Pash's contributions as a board member of Racing NSW were of enormous value to the racing industry.
"He loved his thoroughbreds and was a member of the NSW Racehorse Owners Association and owner of many gvood horses including Black Type winners French Command, Majestically and Havana Wind.
“Graeme handled his ill-health just like he did life – with much courage, determination and character, and he will be sorely missed by all of those he touched during his life.”
