The eight-year-old brought up her 10th career success, settling well back before circling the field before the bend and streeting her rivals, winning by over four lengths as jockey Jason Benbow sat high in the irons with a big flourish of the whip.

New Zealand stayer Capecover made his run around the field with the mare but couldn't match her finishing burst, while Hoaks filled a minor placing for the second year running.

Moody said Reggie is now likely to head back to town to tackle a tougher race.

“She's a tremendous mare for her age and it was a pretty confident ride by Jason,” Moody said. “He's from down this way so it's as close to a hometown win as he can get and he was pretty happy about it.

“She's always been around that Group 2, Group 3 level and it was nice to come back a notch and see her do that.

“We'll probably raise the bar a bit and go to the SAAB or Moonee Valley Cup which isn't beyond her but as a mare who gets back she always needs a bit of luck.”
