Ian Hart Leaves Racing SA

Wednesday, 15 October 2008: Hart, who has been CEO of TRSA since 2004, said he was leaving the organisation to pursue other opportunities.

“I have had 10 challenging but also rewarding years with TRSA, the last four-and-a-half years as chief executive, and believe that now is an appropriate time to move on,” he said.

“Racing has been through some very tough and challenging times but I leave comfortable in the knowledge that every decision that I have made has been in the best interests of stakeholders and with a view to providing a long term and sustainable future for racing in South Australia.

“I'd like to thank the many people from the industry, boards and clubs who have assisted me over the past 10 years and would particularly like to thank the very loyal and dedicated staff that I've had the privilege to work with.”

Hart will also resign as an executive director of both the Australian Racing Board and Racing Information Systems Australia.

“On behalf of the Board, I would like to express my sincere thanks to Ian for his work and commitment throughout his time with TRSA,” said TRSA chairman Philip Bentley.

Bentley said TRSA would immediately begin the search for a new chief executive.
