Fiumicino wins the AJC Derby
Arnold has been confirmed on the 2007 AJC winner after Glen Boss decided to ride Zagreb.

Boss had been aboard the Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes trained gelding through much of his spring campaign, including his first success since the Derby win when taking the Group 2 Hill Stakes.

He then finished third in the Group 3 Colin Stephen Quality before failing badly on a slow track in the Group 1 Metropolitan.

The Melbourne based Wayne Hawkes said Fiumicino “didn't go a yard” in the ground, despite having won the Derby in softer conditions.

The stable has added the blinkers for Saturday's assignment and is hoping he can replicate the Caulfield Cup win of Railings in 2005.

Fiumicino has 56kg in Saturday's race and drew well in barrier four.

In other gear news on the Cup Zagreb will wear the blinkers again, while Maldivian has the cross over nose band added as well as a tongue tie.

Weekend Hussler will wear a tongue tie while Guillotine will wear pacifiers.
