Waterhouse Trial For Tasmanian Apprentice

Waterhoue announcd on Sunday that Ganderton will move to Sydney after rides at the Launceston Cup meeting on February 27.

He will begin riding in races in Sydney from March 3 on a one month trial.

Ganderton is currently apprenticed to Leon Wells, the same trainer Craig Newitt was apprenticed to before joining Lee Freedman in Victoria.

Ganderton won the Tasmanian apprentices title last season and is well in front again this season.

He has ridden 88 winners and but will still be able to claim 3kg in Sydney metropolitan races and 1.5kg at provincial meetings as his metropolitan winners in Tasmania are classified as provincial wins in NSW.
