Lad Of The Manor Scratched After Setback

Saturday, 19 August 2006:
Lad Of Tej Manor was withdrawn only an hour from start time after he gave concern on his arrival at the course from his Wangaratta stable.

Trainer Roger Hoysted reported that Lad Of The Manor had knocked a leg and had developed filling, a problem and that was supported by a veterinary inspection.

The setback places a cloud over Lad Of The Manor's spring program after he also had his autumn program plagued by fitness problems.

He was a late scratching on track from the Doncaster Handicap at Randwick in April after his condition deteriorated alarmingly after he arrived at the course.

Hoysted will be hoping the current problem is not long term and will be hoping last year's Liston Stakes winner will be fit to run in the Memsie Stakes at Caulfield on September 2.
