Big Trial Win By Court's In Session

Friday, 18 August 2006: Danny Beasley bounced out of his sick bed to ride Court's In Session to a five and a half lengths win in his 1200m trial.

The Guy Walter-trained seven-year-old beat Grand Zulu, the 2004 BMW winner who is on track for a spring return for his original trainer Gwenda Markwell.

Queensland Derby winner Ice Chariot finished third, three and half lengths away, with all three placegetters set to start their spring campajgns at Randwick next week in the $200,000 Warwick Stakes (1400m).

Beasley, who missed riding at several meetings this week due to a bout of flu, gave himself a good test out at the trials by riding in five heats to ensure his fitness for tomorrow's Rosehill program.

His trial rides included the Clarry Conners-trained three-year-old filly Underpin, who recorded an impressive win in the fastest of the eight heats run over 797m, running the distance in 47.2 seconds.

The notable open company heat of the morning over 797m was won by the Anthony Cummings-trained Lord Of The Land by a half head from the Walter-trained Dream Ballad in 49.1 seconds.

Walter's Doncaster Handicap winner Patezza finished out of the placings without being extended.
