South African Black Type For Australian Mare

Saturday, 28 August 2010: An Australian bred mare by Giant's Causeway, Lovetorn finished too well for the favourite Miss Scaramanga to win by a length and a quarter for her second successive win after a success at Fairview.

Muzi Yeni was aboard the Gavin Smith trained mare in the feature event for fillies and mares.

A $60,000 purchase for Douglas Taft at the 2007 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale, Lovetorn is part owned by Magic Millions' South African agent, World Wide Bloodstock's Andy Williams.

Lovetorn is by Storm Cat's leading international sire son Giant's Causeway and from the lightly raced Mt. Livermore mare Love All.

Love All is the dam of four runners for three winners with two being stakes winners.

As well as Lovetorn she is the dam of the G3 Newcastle Spring Stakes winner Lovemelickarock - a daughter of Fastnet Rock who was also second in a Sweet Embrace Stakes and third in a Furious Stakes.

Further back the family are the international stars Eagle Cafe, Joyeux Danseur, Arazi, Noverre, Ajdal and Key Dancer.
