Perfectly Ready Youngster Wins Trial
Monday, 9 August 2010: | | Perfectly Ready | Perfectly Ready stands at Brighthill Farm in New Zealand. Brighill Farm sold last Tuesday's 2YO heat winner at Waverley, an unnamed gelding out of the Straight Strike mare Isodora, for $38,000 at the 2010 NZB Select Sale at Karaka in the summer.
Trained by Tony Mambry, the youngster proved too strong for his rivals to take the 600m heat.
Perfectly Ready's first crop was exceptionally well received in New Zealand during the three-legs of the New Zealand Bloodstock National Sales series at Karaka this year selling for up to $290,000.
Perfectly Ready was the leading first-season sire during the Premier session of the National series boasting an average of $150,000.
He represents a growing number of More Than Ready sons at stud in the Southern Hemisphere including classic winner Benicio who stands at Vinery Stud at Scone.
The early success of Benicio and the potential of Perfectly Ready indicate that More Than Ready's influence on Australian breeding will not be limited to his progeny's success on the racetrack.
