The five-year-old, trained by Richard Hannon, is already the winner of eight Group races and provided one of the most memorable moments of the season when cruising home in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury.

Highclere Stud's John Warren said: "There was fierce competition for him from a number of well established studs, and as a grandson of the amazing sire of sires Green Desert, we count ourselves extremely lucky to be in the position to stand one of the toughest, most prolific milers to retire to stud in living memory.”

At three Paco Boy won a deserved G1 in the Prix de la Foret at the expense of 1000 Guineas heroine Natagora and landed his second G1 the following summer in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot.

He has come back better than ever this year, recording smooth wins in the G1 Lockinge Stakes and a second Bet365 Mile.

He was also a fast-finishing neck second to Goldikova in the G1 Queen Anne Stakes and renews rivalry with the great mare in Sunday's Prix Jacques le Marois.

A full or half-brother to five winners, Paco Boy is one of five G1 winners by champion Irish sprinter Desert Style - also sire of Mandesha, Bachir, Prix de la Foret winner Caradak.

The Green Desert sire line is gaining increasing influence thanks to Cape Cross, Invincible Spirit and Oasis Dream.
