Kyllachy Yearlings In Demand At Doncaster

Wednesday, 25 August 2010: After Kyllachy gelding Sole Power;s upset defeat of Starspangledbanner in the G1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York last Friday there was big interest in his Doncaster sale filly from Balladonia (Primo Dominie),

She brought the equal top price on day one at 120,000 pounds ($A209,095) when purchased by Andrew Tinkler.

The filly's older half-brother Wootton Bassett (Iffraaj) won the DBS Premier Yearling Stakes at York last Thursday and is being touted as a leading candidate for the G1 Middle Park Stakes.

Kyllachy won the 2002 Nunthorpe and has made a great start at stud with 10 stakes winners to date.

He standsg alongside his sire Pivotal at Cheveley Park.

Day 1 of the Doncaster Premier Sale realised an average of 27,457 pounds and an 82% clearance rate.

A colt by the deceased Le Vie Dei Colori out of a half sister to G3 winner Eastern Purple was purchased by Sir Robert Ogden for 120,000 pounds.

He is one of a handful of youngsters from the stallion's final crop bred at Rathbarry Stud.
