First Group Winner For Bernardini

Sunday, 29 August 2010: Sent straight to the front under jockey Martin Dwyer, the Brian Meehan-trained filly was challenged in the home straight but shook clear of her rivals most impressively close to home to win by a length and a quarter.

Theyskens' Theory has now won twice in three starts, breaking her maiden at Newmarket by five lengths.

She is now likely to be aimed at the G1 Fillies' Mile at Ascot on 26 September and is among the early favourites for next year's 1000 Guineas.

Theyskens' Theory is out of the Summer Squall mare Heat Lightning, making her a half-sister to G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner Stevie Wonderboy and six other winners.

Bernardini is the sire of five winners to date, including fellow black type filly A Z Warrior.
