Deauville Day Two Rebounds

Sunday, 15 August 2010: The gross of E7,854,000 from 64 horses sold from 91 offered was down 15 per cent on the E9,235,000 for 76 horses sold last year but the average was a solid E122,719 and the median of E100,000 was unchanged.

Topping the session was a first crop filly by shuttle sire Teofilo. She is a half-sister to the Prix du Jockey Club winner Blue Canari, Listed winner Blue Ksar and Group-placed Crabapple and was purchased by Sir Robert Ogden for E400,000.

The second highest price was E360,00 paid for a colt by Shamardal. A a three-quarter brother to the Poule d'Essai des Poulains placegetter Shamalgan, he was purchased by John Ferguson on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed.

A daughter of Monsun out of a half-sister to dual G1 winner Rumplestiltskin from the immediate family of Kingmambo sold for E350,000 to Charlie Gordon-Watson.

Agent Michael Goodbody purchased two lots for a total of E500,000 who will race in France on behalf of Australian owners.

They are a colt by Montjeu out of the G3 winner Dancing Lady sold for E300,000 and a Danehill Dancer colt who fetched E200,000.
