Big Brown Returns A Winner

Monday, 4 August 2008: It was his first run since his inglorious flop in the Belmont Stakes, where he was expected to become the first Triple Crown winner in 20 years.

A son of Boundary, Big Brown had earlier established himself as US racing's latest hero with arrogant wins in both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes.

In today's return, he was challenged by the Mineshaft galloper Coal Play, but did best in the run to the line to score by two lengths.
