Clinton was furious at vets after the filly was a race-day scratching prior to the Blue Diamond Prelude, at the time believing it had robbed the filly a chance to run in the $1 million race.

With a start in the Diamond looking borderline McDonald entered the filly for Moonee Valley on Friday as well as the Wyong Slipper on Sunday.

But the filly has slipped into Saturday's race as the final runner of the 14 horse field where Racing Victoria in the end didn't need to ballot any runners.

McDonald was relieved to gain a start and pending a vet check later this week she will take her place.

“We left our options open but it looks like we've got a run which is good for the owners,” McDonald said.

“She was a fair way down the list so we were pretty lucky.”

The filly has had just one career start when a six length winner at Mornington in mid-January.

After she was unable to run in the Prelude the filly trialled at Caulfield three days later where she galloped strongly under the eye of Racing Victoria vets.

“She trialled extremely well in front of the vets and we haven't done much with her since,” McDonald said.

“She did some work again on Saturday and we've just kept her ticking over since. The vets will inspect her again this week before giving the final all-clear.

“It's a big mission going into the Blue Diamond at just her second start but it's been done before.”

Sydney jockey Larry Cassidy has the mount after winning rider Brad Rawiller committed to the David Hayes-trained All American.
