Glen Colless Reunited With Isurava At Wyong
Wednesday, 20 February 2008: | | Glen Colless | Isurava will face up to a retuirn bout with the Graeme Rogerson-trained colt Cent Per cent in $100,000 Magic Millions STakes (1300m) for three-year-olds.
Colless, who returns from suspension on Saturday at Doomben, has also been booked for the Greg Hickman trained Zulu Dawn in the $200,000 Magic Millions Slipper (1100m) for two year olds.
Denham asked Colless to ride Isurava in preparation for the $1 million Conrad Jupiters Magic Million Trophy for three year olds at the Gold Coast on March 24.
Colless rode the filly when she won the Australia Post at Eagle Farm in June last year and will ride her in the Gold Coast Magic Millions.
After winning the Australia Post, Isurava was spelled and in two starts since resuming has run second both times.
She resumed on a heavy track at Rosehill and again in similar conditions when second to Cent Per Cent in the Gosford Guineas.
Zulu Dawn has started twice for a fifth to Over The Wicket at Rosehill and a fourth, beaten three lengths, behind Wyong SLipper rival Bentley Man at Canterbury.
South African Glyn Schofield, who has painful memories of his introduction to racing at Wyong, is the new rider for the Paul Perry trained two year old Jiale in the Magic Millions Slipper.
Schofield takes over from Mitchell Beadman who rode the filly when she finished third to Delta Girl in the Widden Stakes at Randwick last Saturday.
Soon after arriving in Australia last December Schofield went to Wyong to ride Miss Bax for John O'Shea.
She fell but Schofield was not injured and went on to ride his first winner at Randwick the following Saturday.
