Fantastic galloper set to back up

Tuesday, 19 February 2008: The exciting three-year-old is unbeaten with two easy wins, the latest at Moonee Valley last Saturday where he was a three-length winner of the Listed Nissan Stakes (1200m).

Trainer Mick Price has decided to back the gelding up this weekend in the Group 2 Schweppervescence Cup (1400m) and give him his chance to earn a Guineas berth.

Price was thrilled with the way Light Fantastic pulled up after his latest success and believes only racing will toughen up the talented galloper.

Price's Guineas line-up is already looking good with Sound Journey and Schilling set to run in the race on March 8.

He reported though that El Mandon and Rightfully Yours have been sent for spells.

After Craig Newitt was suspended last weekend Steven King has picked up the gun right of Light Fantastic.
