The colt was originally beaten a nose by Kelly Leak, but was awarded the race when that galloper was demoted to fourth in the stewards room.

Azul Leon had previously won the G3 Hollywood Juvenile Championship before taking this 1300m event.

He is now the winner of three from three for earnings of $182,400.

He is from the Group 3 winning Cure The Blues mare Quick Blue, herself a daughter of the Night Shift mare Nightlong.

Lion Heart is a son of Tale Of The Cat whose first Australian progeny will race as two-year-olds this season.

He was a casualty of the EI outbreak last year, being sent back to America after covering just 12 mares, following books of 122 and 110 in his first two seasons.

Off a fee of $16,500, he is one of the most popular horses on the Coolmore Australia roster this year, owing to his first crop deeds in the US, where he remains the leading freshman sire.
