Rags To Riches

A daughter of Deputy Minister from the Blushing Groom mare Blush With Pride, Better Than Honour is the dam of Belmont Stakes winners Jazil (Seeking The Gold) in 2006 and the filly Rags To Riches (A P Indy) last year.

Her next foal is the Japanese owned runner Casino Drive (Mineshaft), who was unfortunately withdrawn from this year's Belmont on the morning of the race when set to run a firm second favourite.

Given how ingloriously the favourite Big Brown went, there's every chance Casino Drive would have made it three on end for the mare had injury not struck.

Now a 12-year-old, Better Than Honour, a US Broodmare of the Year, did not go in foal this year.

She will be sold as part of a dispersal of the joint holdings of Southern Equine and Hill 'n' Dale Farms.

Other entries for this sale include the Grade 1 winners Point Ashley (Point Given) and Madcap Escapade (Hennessy).
